Got a Tooth Ache?
Botanical and Homeopathy Remedies for a Tooth Ache

I recently came back from the dentist with an aching tooth. You must be wondering how that could be – isn’t the dentist supposed to fix my aching tooth? Indeed, she is, however, I had a nasty little cavity (yes, even naturopaths get cavities) that needed filling and sensitivity is the name of the game afterwards. Like a good little naturopath I had no intention of popping Advil like it was going out of style, but I needed something to help me get over the pain. That is when I turned to two of my favorite naturopathic options – homeopathy and botanical medicine.

I didn’t have time to run to the clinic, so I chose a premade botanical tincture called Gingivix by Clef des Champs. It contains healing Hydrastis canadensis and Calendula officinalis, antimicrobial Commiphora myrrh, soothing Altheae officinalis, and mouth-friendly Coptis trifolia. I also picked up the typical trauma-friendly homeopathic Arnica montana and nerve-specific Hypericum perforatum.

By pairing these modalities together I was able to heal my mouth from the root level. I am now pain and cavity free and it’s my mission is to stay that way!

Next time you have a toothache, come and visit me at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic. I can assess the issue and send you to your dentist with a specialized tincture and remedy prescription in hand so you can be pain and cavity free, too – just what the (future) doctor ordered.

So you just took Gingivix, Arnica montana, and Hypericum perforatum, and the cavity went away? How long did this take?

  2. Hi Chelsea. Actually I took Gingivix, Arnica and Hypericum to help me manage the pain after having the cavity fixed and avoid infection. I used it for 1 week following the procedure.
